David Donald (Don) Mulford was born on August 27, 1915 in Oakland, California. During World War II he served as an army lieutenant
in the European and Pacific theaters. After the war he produced shows and booked bands in Los Angeles. Afterwards he worked
in the family insurance business. In 1957, he was elected to the California State Assembly where he served as Republican caucus
chairman and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee. In 1970, he left the Assembly and became the protocol officier for
the state of California and the city of Oakland. He was also a member of the California Medical Assistance Commission. Mr.
Mulford died on March 20, 2000 at the age of eighty-four.
